Move Monday // Plié In Second With Front Attitude

Happy Move Monday! Last week I kicked off my Move Monday Series with a toning pilates inspired bridge kick. Did you feel the burn in your glutes, thighs and abs? I hope so! This week we are sticking with the lower body and layering in a ballet move to target those tiny muscles around your joints. Complete both moves each day this week to shape those long, lean legs!

Week 2: Plié In Second With Front Attitude:
Begin in ballet second position– feet wide, legs turned out from the hips, and arms extended. Bend your knees to lower your hips almost parallel withyour knees. Keep your spine long and your shoulders stacked above your hips. Then, press into heels and begin to lengthen the legs. As you rise to standing, lift the right leg into a front attitude (knee bent 90 degrees, toe pointed and leg turned out). With control lower the right leg back and return to second position. Repeat 20 times on each leg.
