Trending Tuesday // Smoothie Bowls

This week’s trend is a personal favorite of mine — Smoothie Bowls. I love a good smoothie – it’s the perfect meal for one, a great way to use those last few berries, and a nice vessel for good-for-me greens and superfoods. BUT, sometimes that liquid meal leaves a little to be desired. I need a little bite. That’s where the smoothie bowl comes to the rescue. It has all of the aforementioned assets AND you get to eat it with a spoon and enjoy some textural variety from nuts and fruits. Take a look at my Smoothie bowl round-up below.

The Kreation craze is real! If you live in So Cal, you need to check out Kreation. I love always knowing where I can find quality, reliable, raw, organic, gluten free juices and snacks. Smoothie bowls are just one of their many delicious offerings.

Looking for me? Check The Source Cafe Hermosa Beach. I’m probably there, eating this Sunrise Bowl (or anything else on their feel-good menu). There’s nothing better than supporting a local cafe that promotes happy, healthy living.

Love variety? Check out the Simple Veganista’s Enlightened Smoothie Bowl post. She offers up tiny bowls of topping options a la Pinkberry. Be care, there are a lot of tempting choices.

I couldn’t talk Smoothie Bowls with whipping up one of my own. Try my easy breakfast bowl: Blend 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop Champion Naturals Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup raspberries, 1 cup almond milk. Top with orange segments, granola, ground flax and blueberries. Enjoy!

If you eat with your eyes first then you must make one of Anni’s beautiful Brekky Bowls — I love that in addition to being gorgeous all of Anni’s bowls are thoughtful composed of nutritious, energy boosting ingredients. Try this Crispy blue brekky bowl  with a banana, apple and kiwi base. Yummy.
